Changing an order

Written by Peter Szendrenyi

The best way to change an order is to cancel it and place a new one. Vendors can use different restaurant software or POS (point-of-sale) systems, and can keep track of their orders in different ways (a printed ticket, their own system, a spreadsheet, or email). Ordit can't update those details once the vendor has them, so cancelling and reordering avoids any confusion or mistakes.

If the order hasn't been sent to the vendor yet

Cancel it yourself from order history, then place a new order with the changes.

If the order has already been sent to the vendor

Contact Ordit support. Whether it can be cancelled and changed depends on how long there is before delivery, the order value, and the vendor, so the team will check and let you know.

If you only want to change the delivery time

If you'd rather adjust the delivery time than cancel, let support know. It can sometimes be done, but because we can't be certain the vendor will pick up the change, we usually recommend cancelling and reordering instead. We'll only adjust the delivery time if you're happy to accept that small risk.
